Wander ruins of ancient civilizations, trek the Andes to gain access to Machu Picchu and bear witness to the mystical Nazca Lines from above.

It is hard for visitors not to be transported back to ancient times while trekking through the Amazonian rain forests with condors soaring above, climbing the Andean mountains or traversing the Peruvian Desert.

The country of Peru boasts some very distinctive regions, with each one offering something different. This means there is a holiday for everyone, whether it is family holidays, adventure holidays or Solo Holidays.

When planning the time of the year to visit Peru, you should be aware there are two main seasons. Wet and Dry, although this varies in different regions. The main period travellers visit the country is between June and August which is the best season if you are planning to go hiking and mountain climbing as it is the dry season in the Andean Highlands.

If you plan to trek anywhere, then December to March should be avoided as this is the wet season and that can make things hard.

You will find travellers in various regions of Peru all year round, as there is always somewhere to visit.

Although most visitors will not need a visa to visit Peru, it should be noted that you will be issued a Tarjeta Andina de Migracion, which is a tourist card/immigration card that you should carry with you at all times, along with your passport. This is especially true when visiting remote areas and even required by law on the Inca trail.

If you are an experienced adventurer or are looking for a change from the standard package holidays, why not read up on the tours and holidays that are held in Peru and treat yourself to one of the most exiting and adventurous holidays you are likely to ever have.
